We do not sell your Google user data to third parties. This data is used solely for providing and improving our reminder services.

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. These technologies are used to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.

Access to Google User Data

Meeting Reminders uses OAuth authentication to create an account on your behalf. OAuth is a secure mechanism that gives Meeting Reminders access to your Google account data without sharing your password. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Meeting Reminders requests the following OAuth scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.addons.execute: To integrate with Google Calendar for creating and managing reminders.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly: To read your calendar events for setting up reminders.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events: To create and manage calendar events related to reminders.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request: To make external API requests necessary for our service functionality.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email: To access your email address for account creation and communications.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile: To access your name for personalizing the service.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send: To send email reminders through your Gmail account.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.scriptapp: To run our Google Apps Script application that powers some of our features.
  • https://www.google.com/m8/feeds: To access your Google Contacts for selecting reminder recipients.

These scopes are used strictly for the purposes described above and are essential for the core functionality of our Meeting Reminders service.

You may provide your consent to data collection during the account creation process or within your account settings. You can also opt-out or withdraw your consent at any time through your account settings. If you choose not to provide certain types of personal data, you may be unable to access some functionalities of the service, particularly those that require email processing or sending SMS/WhatsApp reminders.

Usage of Google Analytics

Meeting Reminders uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your device, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, including your IP address, will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Purpose and Scope:

  • Analysis: Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

  • Data Sharing: Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

  • IP Anonymization: We have activated IP anonymization on Meeting Reminders, meaning that Google will truncate/anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

User Options:

  • Opt-Out: You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of Meeting Reminders.

  • Browser Add-On: Additionally, you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Sharing of Your Data

We may share your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: To monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to contact you, and to provide SMS and WhatsApp reminder services. We will only work with Service Providers that adhere to strict data usage policies.
  • For Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

Regarding Google user data specifically:

  1. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose Google user data to third parties for marketing purposes.
  2. We share limited Google user data with specific Service Providers only to the extent necessary to provide our core services:
    • Phone numbers obtained from Google Contacts are shared with Twilio to facilitate SMS reminder services.
    • Phone numbers obtained from Google Contacts are shared with WhatsApp to enable WhatsApp reminder messages.
  3. These Service Providers (Twilio and WhatsApp) are contractually obligated to use this data only for the purpose of providing reminder services and in compliance with our privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.
  4. All other Google user data, including email addresses and calendar information, remains within the Google ecosystem and is used for sending email reminders directly through Google’s services.
  5. We may disclose Google user data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  6. In the event of a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), Google user data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. In such cases, we will require the acquiring entity to honor the commitments we’ve made in this Privacy Policy.

We ensure that any sharing or transfer of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy and applicable data protection laws. We maintain control over this data and limit its use to the purposes for which it was collected.

Data Retention

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The retention period varies based on the type of data and the purpose for which it is processed. Below is a breakdown of various scenarios and their corresponding data retention periods:

  • General Use of Services: We will process your data as long as you have an active user account or as needed to provide you with our services. Once your account is deleted or your interaction with our services ends, we will retain your personal data for a period of 6 years to comply with our legal obligations and resolve any disputes.

  • SMS and WhatsApp Reminders: Phone numbers and related data used for sending SMS and WhatsApp reminders will be retained as long as you have an active account and continue to use these features. Upon account deletion or feature deactivation, this data will be deleted within 30 days.
  • Legal Requirements: In cases where we are legally required to retain data for a longer period, such as for compliance with tax laws or other legal obligations, we will retain the data as per the required duration by law.

Right to Request Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Upon your request, we will delete your data unless we are legally required to retain it.

  • Phone numbers are obtained from your Google Contacts or when manually provided by you.
  • We use third-party services (such as Twilio) to send SMS and WhatsApp messages. These services have their own privacy policies and security measures.
  • We do not use your phone number for any purpose other than sending the reminders you request.
  • You can opt-out of SMS and WhatsApp reminders at any time by changing your settings in the Meeting Reminders app.

Compliance with Local and International Laws

This Privacy Policy is also designed to comply with local data protection laws in Spain and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data (e.g., for what purposes, what type of data, to whom it is communicated, retention periods, and any third-party sources from which it was obtained). We undertake to respect the confidentiality of your Personal Data and to guarantee your rights. You may exercise your rights by contacting us.

As per the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on Personal Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights, Meeting Reminders is the data controller responsible for your personal data. Our strategic decisions regarding the purposes and means of processing personal data are made by our team in Spain. Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
